Checking an art file has largely remained a manual process, passed between multiple people with varying levels of understanding of art file setup. We started Preflight after experiencing the production delays and reprints that a manual process can cause.
Where it started
Our founder, Michael Bolland, comes from print packaging and manufacturing, on the sales and marketing side of flexographic and digital printing.
That put him between prepress and the customer, on both ends of the same art file problem. The idea for Preflight came directly out of that experience.
Why it exists
And reprints don't just cost money. They can cost you the customer.
What we aim to do
We give everyone in the ordering process the same prepress knowledge and understanding, as plain language findings with how-to-fix information attached.
And we automate art file intake into a more efficient, streamlined system that print manufacturers can implement, so prepress departments can focus on higher level objectives.
